Yep holding it correctly would help
There's probably some simple video edit ting software like windows movie maker that is capable of changing the orientation.

I was looking for an answer to this every bit well. If the camera is being held incorrectly, and then why practise all the videos upload onto social media sites correctly, but flip sideways on the computer? I'one thousand distressing, but this answer is casuistic. Does anyone accept a better reply?

It'southward the way there adult and gear up. To automatically correct some of the nearly common mistakes people make.
This allows for a better experience on these site.
Microsoft is developed to make coin thru your mistakes, and lack of cognition in how to make things piece of work properly (got to purchase more than software to get individual things to piece of work as they should).
Thankfully there are those who develop software that's gratis to counter human action Microsofts money making scheem.
I only apply Windows for those programs that are specifically developed for Windows. I don't employ the security swiss cheese Windows for Internet, instead I use a Linux Distro (no antivirus or malware programs needed)

I but experienced this problem with my new android RAZR. And I accidentally discovered the fix for it. If you lot're belongings the phone sideways to go a "widescreen" film, then flip the phone 180 degrees. In my case that meant rotating information technology then the volume buttons on on the lesser edge, and non the meridian. So far every video has filmed correctly doing this.

Give thanks you Brian, but I cannot find the mural style in my Galaxy S5. Practice you lot know of any S5 settings that would allow me to take videos in the Portrait direction?

On my LG G3 there is a push for "rotation". When the button is on, the phone automatically rotates. When information technology is off, information technology stays in portrait way.

The easiest solution is to plow off Auto Rotate in your phone settings. Endeavour information technology! Sure yous can convert the videos in many programs only it is time consuming.

I realize I'm bumping an old thread, and quoting a nearly-4 year old comment, merely nobody best-selling the solution Ken offered in a higher place which was for me the most elegant of those offered in this thread. Works on my Droid Turbo with Lollipop and the stock camera app. Information technology's much easier than sorting through Android settings to toggle mural/auto-rotate off before and back on after recording a video, and it's far better a solution than uploading to a computer to edit the video's orientation (which is what I was doing at one indicate). I did what Ken suggested, turned the photographic camera to an "upside down landscape" orientation, and similar magic the replay orientation was a perfect right-side up mural on both my photographic camera and my figurer. No video editing, and no toggling of settings.
Thanks!
